Amazônia: Mother of Nature? is the first documentary about the people of the Brazilian Rain Forest produced entirely in High-Definition wide screen format. Beyond the technology used, this Brazilian-American production will bring the world one of the most complete and modern views of

he realities faced by people in Negro River region of the Amazon.

Though a subject of much speculation, research, and cinematic exploration, information about the Amazon has always been limited to its current state of destruction. The region is often portrayed as the land of the wild and primitive. In our opinion, this distant view of "burning off" has not always contributed much to further preservation and understanding of the Rain Forest.

>From the bustling city of Manaus to remote villages in the border of Colombia and Venezuela, we listen to a variety of people who make Amazônia their home. The program focuses on the human element with interviews and never before seen images of one of the most protected regions of the world.
