Description:
Join
our medical and building trekkers on this 10-day trip, which
will give you an education of a lifetime, and help local
communities and river residents get basic medical attention,
and education. You will be helping us in our goal to build
a campsite with a health post and reading school in one
of the river communities located 75 miles from Manaus.
This
is a great program for doctors, dentists, medical students,
teachers, or anyone interested in the dynamics of the Amazon
region and the needs of the people who live in river communities.
Let us know of your travel plans, as we may be able to accommodate
you in a shorter stay with us. We also want you to get involved
and continue to learn about our progress.
You
must be in good shape and health condition, as we will be
trekking for two days in the jungle as part of your own
education. Participants are immersed in a true Amazon experience,
including trekking through pristine forests, navigating
through Igapós (flooded forests), fishing Amazon
style, learning survival skills, and helping us survey the
region, clean up and build the jungletrekker academy site.
We
feel you deserve some relaxation for helping out. The last
two evenings will be spent trekking, swimming, fishing or
simply enjoying the natural beauty of the area.
