The race is held northeast of the city of Manaus and nearby the town of Rio Preto da Eva (Population: app. 13.000ha.)  Different routes and challenges are added each year to give returning runners a truly new experience, and allow for new growth.   The course captures the essence of the Rain Forest onto a path full of surprises, including up and down slopes, natural obstacles (vines, and fallen trees), breathtaking sights, water falls, lakes, and small communities that participate in the making of the event.   The terrain is full of roots, small rocks, and holes. Animals, as they have been spotted last year, are present in this environment, and include wild pigs, snakes, spiders, monkeys, and jaguars.
