The base camp (JungleTrekker Academy) is an open lodge setting located in the middle of the forest, some 9 hours by boat from Manaus.  The camp site was built to hold jungle survival and trekking programs, and its simple structure is similar to houses seen along the Amazon rivers.

Although remote, this hammock lodge offers electricity, eco-friendly toilets, spring water, cold water hose showers, cafeteria, and a medical post. The site is surrounded by primary forest, and calm lakes that are perfect for swimming and canoeing.

Runners will spend the first two evenings before the race at this lodge for acclimatization and a short jungle survival course. All meals will be provided at the base camp.

Once the race starts 6 additional camp sites are raised jungle style for hammock accommodation (supplied) of runners and the advance technical team. Hot water and medical assistance will be available at all camp sites.

Most of the race area is owned by local residents who get support from this and other adventure and Ecotravel programs designed and operated by the jungletrekker team. Some camp sites are raised inside jungle communities or nearby resident homes giving runners an amazing opportunity to learn more about their living styles and economy.
